Bushnell’s Basin Fire Association Receives Anonymous Donation

November 11, 2019 By Fireline Hosting

Bushnell’s Basin Fire Association received an anonymous donation totaling more than ten thousand dollars from a local family within its fire district. The family contacted the Association President Daniel Mack and Fire Chief Todd Bane to convey their desire to fund a project that upgraded fire equipment for the district.

The Bushnell’s Basin Fire Association is overwhelmed by this generous donation. Its members researched several options before presenting a project to purchase an OHD Quantifit Respirator Fit Testing System, along with a five year parts and service warranty. The fit test machine tabulates the mask’s seal and tightness to a firefighter’s face during work simulating firefighter activities. Chief Todd Bane said, “With the rise in cases of cancer associated with firefighting, we are very excited to use this state of the art technology to better protect our volunteers”. This donation is also timely as November is Lung Cancer Awareness month.

Bushnell’s Basin Fire Association is a one hundred percent volunteer organization that protects the people and property in the south west corner of the town of Perinton. For more information, please contact Daniel Mack at 585-248-5606 or [email protected]
