Get started today (3 methods):
- visit our Station #1 at 661Pittsford Victor Road, any Monday evening between 7:30 and 9:30 PM. Representatives of our Membership Committee will be happy to answer all of your questions, go over the application process with you and will be happy to guide you on a tour of our facility and any training being conducted at that time.
- Fill out our online form and a BBFD representative will contact you
- Call 248-9403, our electronic mailbox and leave your name and phone number. A representative from our Membership Committee will contact you.
Requirements:
- You must be 18 years of age
- You must live within 3 miles of the fire district boundary (Map of Monroe County Fire Districts)
Notes:
- Members of Bushnell's Basin receive ALL training and equipment required to carry out the duties of a firefighter.
- Drill is conducted each Monday night, from 7:30 - 9:30 PM., covering all facets of firefighting including the annual mandatory training requirements established by the State & Federal governments.
- Initial training will take you through the OSHA Basic Firefighter requirements and subsequent training will allow you to certify as an NFPA Level I and II Firefighter. Training consists of classroom and hands-on practical sessions.
- Training is also provided for those members not directly involved in firefighting.
